We chose the Golf Course RV camp for our base. It is walking distance to town with both a dump point and water close by.  The Chairlift and walk around the Nut was fantastic. Jenny went both ways on the fork lift, I opted to take the walk back to the bottom. Got some fantastic photos.  There are heaps of BnB, all done up very nicely and probably have the price to match.

In total we had 4 at the RV Camp, $10 a night with a water and a dump point.

So with the time we had, we explored the town fully with its museums and history.  Higfields House was so informative and great to be able to do a self guided tour through the house and out buildings.  It was all about VDL (Van Diemens Land Company) a private company that was the beginnings of Stanley.

The fish and chips that we had takeaway from two different shop was as fresh as tasted good as it made its way to our tummies.

Your walk begins at Marine Park overlooking Little Wharf where the bustling life of old Stanley was once centred, and on Wharf Road where Meg Eldridge, the town’s most famous writer and artist, grew up in the 1920s.
