We travelled through some quant little villages as we travelled back along Highway A1 for our stopover at Oatlands. The camp was great with a donation box for those that wanted to pay. The funds raised are going to the upgrade of a walking track around their lake. The attraction here was the historic Callington Mill (1924). A distillery is now co-sited and the whole area has been updated and rejuvenated.
But we found Oatlands had a lot more to offer. The environmental recovery of their lake is interesting as well as the partial remains of the prison and many more historical buildings.
